“Job Description” of a Community Planning Group Member

Purpose : Based on data, to make recommendations about HIV/AIDS prevention and care planning for the state of Hawai‘i.

In collaboration with the Department of Health:

 

 

¨            Support the mission, policies, processes, and leadership of the CPG as agreed upon by the members. Support other CPG members;

¨           Act on behalf of those infected with, affected by, and at risk for HIV in Hawai`i;

¨            Identify unmet HIV/AIDS needs for prevention and care in the state;

¨            Assess existing community resources to determine the community's ability to meet the HIV epidemic;

¨            Develop and periodically update a comprehensive prevention and care plan for the state;

¨            Review available information and data to prioritize needs;

¨            Prioritize prevention needs for each high risk population. Prioritize strategies and interventions for those populations;

¨           Determine the capacity-building and educational needs of CPG members. Participate in capacity-building and training;

¨            Attend an Orientation meeting;

¨            Attend meetings of the CPG or have an Alternate attend;

¨            Join one standing committee;

¨            Actively participants in CPG meetings and committee meetings;

¨            Disclose conflicts of interest, if any;

¨            Ask for help or advice from the co-chairs, DOH staff, or other CPG members if needed;

¨            Evaluate the CPG process;
